Bride

September 12, 2020 would be forever changing. It was a ordinary Saturday. We had all gotten up to head out to do some running around. We stopped at McDonald's (Bailey's favorite breakfast place) to grab a bite to eat. We then headed to a few boat lots, RV lots, subway for lunch and then to my parents house. My parents happened to be at my brother's house and I didn't have the key to the storm door. My mother came home to let us in so we could eat and relax. Bailey on the other hand wanted to go with her "Baby" to my brother's house to be with her grandfather "Boot", Uncle Lyle, Tia Jackie and baby cousin Kennedy. Meanwhile, Anthony and I decided to make it a Netflix afternoon. I ended up falling alseep (as usual) on a Netflix series I wanted to watch. Anthony woke me up sharing he needed to run somewhere and would be right back. I didn't think anything of it because Anthony always has a side hustle or helping someone do something. I didn't mind... It was a perfect time to catch up on some sleep. After about an hour Anthony called to ask if I wanted to ride to one of my favoite wineries. I dare not turn down that opportunity! I hurried to get myself together. We rode to Mayodan, NC to Autumn Creek Vineyards. We were told once we got there that we only had about 5 mins before they closed for a wedding. I quickly responded that we would buy a bottle of wine and drink it quickly outside and then leave. Anthony and I walked the grounds of the vineyard. I was holding a nice conversation and turned to look at him for a response. As I turned Anthony was down on one knee about to propose. He said some heartfelt words and asked me to marry him. I was shocked, happy, and in disbelief all at the same time. I immediatley replied with a huge kiss and hug repeating myself "Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes".

Groom

The years, months, weeks, days and hours leading up to September 12, 2020 were tough but it was well worth it. Meeting all the family and wondering if they would let me in their circle was constantly on my mind. I knew quickly by her family members that I was welcomed in. People, family and friends would ask me as we dated, when I was going to pop the question. They all knew we were meant to be together, as I have always thought and known. Well, I got up the courage to get down on one knee and ask my true love, my crush, and now my soulmate to marry me. With a quivering "Yes" from Ivie and a soulful kiss, I knew I had made this woman who I have loved for years happy.
